Dulwyddelan _03Access: June 2003

On Friday we went to Dolwyddelan parked next to the church and walked up the hill towards a waterfall that is not marked on the map. We bumped into a lady, later identified as the school crossing lady, with two small dogs she says that the waterfall is not the best place to go is overgrown and there is a danger of snakes! We go on up the hill and misread the map. Returned down the hill and follow the footpath sign to the right it's rough, boggy with the additional comfort of lots of gnats. This is not right! We return to the road and go up the hill. There is an excellent view down the valley towards Dolwyddelan Castle we continue along the track to the bridge where there are very minor cascades but there is the sound of more! We tried every which way to fineness waterfalls and after several hours of walking in extremely boggy and adverse conditions we realised that if there is a half decent waterfall it is concealed amongst dense brush and vegetation. If we met the school crossing patrol lady away back and told plight. She was not surprised!

Comment: Nice walk good views of the castle.
