Access: There are two ways to get to these falls. The first from Talybont-on-Usk, take the road to Pontsticill that goes alongside the Talybont Reservoir. At the end of the reservoir follow the river for about two miles until the river passes under the road bridge (Pont Blaen-y-glyn). A few hundred yards past this bridge is a picnic area and parking places. The main waterfall can be reached by either following the forestry track on the right hand side of the road opposite the picnic area or going back to the bridge and following the river up the hill.

If taking the forestry track a small bridge crosses a tributary to the main river (Caerfanell). It is worth a quick detour into the pine wood and have a look at two quite interesting waterfalls about 50 to 100 metres away hidden in the forest.

See Waterfall number 24.

The second route is from Pontsticill (Merthyr Tydfil) following the Taff Trail to the Talybont Forest.

Comment: This is a nice walk and the falls carry on above and below this one which is one of the highest. It can just be a small trickle in summer but still would be a nice area to stop with children.

It is used sometimes by Outdoor Centres to take primary children river running below this waterfall. Not when it is like this though!

It is worth exploring this area as there are lots of waterfalls within close proximity.
