Access: Ganllwyd is a small hamlet between Dolgellau and Trawsfynydd on the A470. When travelling from Dolgellau there are some Public Conveniences and a car park to the right. Behind the toilets there is a footpath leading towards the main river Cross the Footbridge over the river and take the forestry tract to the left. After about a mile there is a metal footbridge crossing the Afon Mawddach. Cross the bridge and bare right after a further mile the waterfall can be seen on the left.

You can of course drive to the metal footbridge and park there if you wish. But either way a delightful walk can be had.

Comment: Near the Gold Mine. The hills behind this waterfall are dotted with old mine shafts some which appear to be covered in wood. Very dangerous off the path.
