Access: Ganllwyd is a small hamlet between Dolgellau and Trawsfynydd on the A470. When travelling from Dolgellau there are some Public Conveniences and a car park to the right. Behind the toilets there is a footpath leading towards the main river Cross the Footbridge over the river and take the forestry track to the left. After about a mile there is a metal footbridge crossing the Afon Mawddach. You do not have to cross the bridge and after about a mile the waterfall can be seen underneath you to the left. Just beyond the waterfall is a small stone bridge allowing the waterfall to be walked around and Pistyll Cain can be visited as too.

You can of course drive to the metal footbridge and park there if you wish. But either way a delightful walk can be had.

Comment: Near the Gold Mine. The hills behind this waterfall are dotted with old mine shafts some which appear to be covered in wood. Very dangerous off the path.
