Access: Take the B4391 out of Ffestiniog (Now may be Llan Ffestiniog {2009}), Go
past the Rhaeadr y Cwm (Rhaeadr is waterfall in Welsh) Turn left on the B4407.
Keep on this road and go past the turning to the unclassified road to Penmachno.
After about a mile there is a house on the left hand side (Llyn Cottage and a
gated substantial, Water Authority track leading off to the north and Llyn
Conway. As you wonder if this can be right you will notice that there is sign
that a number of vehicles park on the right hand side of the road. This can
be a little daunting for people who don’t like open or wild spaces. Get out
of the car and walk a few hundred yards. At first there is nothing except for
tussocks of coarse grass and then the sound of the waterfall will lead you to
its source. One word of warning though there is a steep drop which conceals a
shepherds hut. Underneath the falls is a ‘wash pool’, for sheep.
